Specifications:
Citrine is a yellow variety of quartz. Most citrines are mined in Brazil today, but it has been cherished as a valuable gemstone since the ancient Greeks first made use of it in jewelry. Some varieties today have a deeper amber-brown tone, and may be marketed as "madeira citrine", alongside the classical golden honey tone. Citrine is a popular November birthstone because it is very similar in appearance to yellow topaz.
Emerald is one of the big three colored gemstones, alongside sapphire and ruby. Emeralds come in a variety of green tones ranging from yellowish-green to bluish-green, and often have a satiny "glowing" appearance in the light. Tiny inclusions in the stone actually help create this glowing satin effect. The finest emeralds were historically mined in Colombia, but today many high grade stones are also found in Zambia and Brazil, among other places. Emerald is the birthstone for May.
All gemstones from True Color Gems are ethically sourced and cut by skilled lapidary artisans. We are constantly acquiring new rare and unusual gems of every shape and size from mines all over the world, so check back often for updates.
